“Ted Lasso” star Hannah Waddingham has joined the cast of Ryan Gosling’s “The Fall Guy”According to a person with knowledge of the project, Universal will adapt this film. Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Emily Blunt are also stars.
“Hobbs & Shaw”Universal bought the package from an auction and David Leitch, the filmmaker, is directing it. The feature film is inspired by the classic 1980s series of the same name created by Glen A. Larson.

The untitled film will also be produced by Leitch and Gosling, and Guymon Casady via Entertainment 360 and Kelly McCormick through 87North. Geoff Shaevitz, Larson, and Kelly McCormick will also executive producer.
Universal’s Executive Vice President of Production Matt Reilly, and Director of Development Tony Ducret will supervise the project.
Waddingham whose credits span film, streaming and the West End, broke out as team owner Rebecca Welton on AppleTV+’s com “Ted Lasso.” The role has garnered her several awards including the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, two Critics’ Choice Awards and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble. She also won the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, two Critics’ Choice Awards and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble. “Ted Lasso,” Waddingham has a recurring role on Netflix’s “Sex Education” and had a memorable role in HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Her upcoming credits include FOX’s “Krapopolis” and PBS/ITV 1’s “Tom Jones.”
