Is GTA 6’s Release Date Delayed? Fans Concerned Over Lack of Updates

GTA 6 Release Date Concerns: Fans Anxious for New Updates

GRAND THEFT Auto fans have complained following reports GTA 6 has “fallen behind” and could even be delayed. Rockstar, the firm behind the world-famous franchise, has not yet set a release date for the latest installment. GTA V was released ten years ago, and version VI is now hotly anticipated. But the lack of clarity around its release has led to speculation that it could be delayed. Website Kotaku has reported that the game’s release could now be pushed back to 2026, despite some sources claiming the game is due out next year.

Speculation Surrounding GTA 6 Release Date

One source told the website that the game’s production had been “falling behind.” The outlet has reported that GTA envisages releasing the game next year, although a fall release is more likely than spring. The website has reported that GTA may consider a 2026 release as a “fall back” position if necessary. Speaking to Aftermath, one Rockstar worker was quoted saying that some employees had concerns about the game’s production. Earlier this year Bloomberg reported that some Rockstar workers were unhappy at being mandated to return to the office.

GTA 6 Setting and Game Details

Rockstar has yet to release a setting for the latest game, but insiders claim it will be set in the fictional Sin City. GTA 5 was Rockstar’s largest game at that time, and it has continued to support it through new remasters. GTA Online is also widely popular and receives new updates consistently, which has meant that Rockstar waited longer to develop a sequel. There were five years between GTA 4 and GTA 5, and these games were much smaller in scope.

Fortnite Players Eligible for Refunds

EPIC Games has just announced that thousands of Fortnite players are eligible for refunds. Those who have purchased certain emotes on the Fortnite in-game Item Shop will be able to get their money back. Fortnite added two emotes to the platform two years apart called Side Shuffle and Jubi Slide. Players started to notice that the emotes were extremely similar, with the main difference being the music that played in the background. Users complained about the similarity of the two emotes, calling it a new kind of ‘reskin.’ Epic Games has listened to the complaints and says it will refund all users who purchased both emotes a refund of 400 V-bucks.
