After RAF veteran Colin Bell’s appearance on GOOD Morning Britain, fans of the show were stunned when he revealed his age.
A former RAF fighter pilot completed a nail biting abseil to 17 stories of the Royal London Hospital, raising money for three charities. The viewers praised him as a “legend”.
He was interviewed on ITV’s sofa about his accomplishment. He admitted that, during this feat, he had been “not afraid but thoughtful”.
Colin said to Kate Garraway (56), and Ben Shephard (48) of Good Morning Britain that the experience: “Made Me Thoughtful.”
“I was thinking ‘it is a very long way down !’.”
In the video, hosts called attention to Colin’s age of 102. His fans couldn’t believe the truth.
One took to X formerly known as Twitter to write: “Wow, abseiling for charity at 102, what a guy…”
One person commented, “Wow Colin! Amazing for 102!” while another said “Looks fantastic at 102.”
It was then said: “Colin, you look great for 102.”
One person said: “102-year old Colin Bell, loving WW2 hero. This man is an inspiration. “Thank you Sir for your service.”
One fan said: “Could hear Colin all day!” As one fan said: “What a wonderful gentleman! What a legend Colin really is!” As sharp as a tack at 102. An amazing raconteur. I could listen to him tell stories all day.”
Colin made a joke about the secret of a long and happy life.
He explained that it came down to “exercise, drinking and the love for good women with one bad woman added in.”
