It feels like it’s been forever since movie screens were graced with The Meg.Jason Statham and a giant prehistoric shark were the subject of a film that featured them. The MegA half-billion dollars were earnedGlobal box office and so Quickly, a sequel was approved. Five years ago, the original movie was released. Now, the sequel is ready to be seen by the cameras.
According to KFTV, Meg 2 – The TrenchThe movie Jason Statham will be working next as it will start shooting at the UK’s Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden next Monday, January 24. It has two large water tank sets on the studio’s exterior, and one on its soundstage. They will be used for most of the action. The majority of the film’s production was shot in New Zealand.
Jason Statham played the role of a former deep water diver, who is recruited to lead a rescue mission deep under the Mariana Trench. The rescue is successful and it frees sea creatures that were previously thought extinct, including the megalodon shark.
Is it a bit absurd? Yes. The movie managed to balance the over-the-top plot with the tense action in an enjoyable way that the audience clearly enjoyed. This was evident in the large number of reviews.
Based on the novel of Steve Alten, the original movie was also based. Six other novels are in the franchise. Another is currently being announced. The second book in this series is also called The TrenchThe second novel is believed to be the inspiration for the new movie, but that is still not confirmed. The book is about the demise of a geologic survey vessel that was investigating the Mariana Trench. Jonas Taylor (played by Jason Statham) is again called into service.
Dean Georgaris and Jon Hoeber adapted the first book into screenplays. Erich Hoeber also wrote the script for the new movie. Ben Wheatley will take over as directorJon Turteltaub
Because there were clearly Fans who loved the original movieThere will be many who are thrilled to hear that the second movie has been released. According to some reports, the long delay was more to do with Find a good script Meg 2 than it did any pandemic related delays. Fans will also be happy if the cast/crew is satisfied with the story. Meg 2: Deep Trench doesn’t have an official release date yet but with shooting starting now we can expect it to arrive early next year.
