It has been 15 years since JLS burst onto the scene with their debut album – but don’t expect to hear any more new tunes from them. Central Recorder can reveal the group have ruled out making another record for now, because they want to pack their concerts with hit singles rather than fresh tracks which no one has heard.

JLS 2.0 and Evolution Albums

In an exclusive chat, Oritse Williams said: “We’ve got a lot of music stacked up that we haven’t performed, that’s been out in the form of JLS 2.0, the album, and the Evolution album. So I feel like we need to catch up with ourselves musically before we can add anymore to the bank. For us, it’s about the hits and enjoying those big records that people love. When you go to a show you always want to hear the songs you’re familiar with which bring back those memories.”

Focus on Fan Favorites

That will be good news for fans seeing the group this July, when they play in Shrewsbury, Edinburgh Castle and Kew the Music in London, which you can get tickets for at myticket.co.uk. On their staying power in the industry, thanks to hits like Beat Again, Everybody in Love and One Shot, Oritse – who is in the band with Aston Merrygold, JB Gill and Marvin Humes – said: “We’ve seen artists come and go. We’ve seen artists have great success but still not have the staying power that we have. So to be able to continue to tour and perform in such big venues is just incredible.”

Upcoming Tour Dates

Their decision to hit the road again follows their arena tour last autumn, which was followed by Marvin’s stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Speaking about the impact it had on him, he admitted: “I lost a stone on the JLS tour and then the next day I flew to Australia and I lost a stone in the jungle. It was a lot. But I can say, I’ve put it back on now. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. You go into a show like that with apprehension and nerves and an element of the unknown but it was one of the best things. It was very hard and very challenging but I do miss it. It was incredible and I’ll treasure those memories for life.
