Georgia 20-year-old killed by Falling Gate at Rodeo

On Friday, a Georgian woman was killed in an accident while riding at a horse-riding competition. According to Dalton Daily Citizen

Breanna Chadwick from Reinhardt University, a 20-year-old Reinhardt University student was at a rodeo organized by the Murray County Saddle Club.

According to the Daily Citizen a horse ran into the arena gate, and Chadwick was struck by the falling gate.

“Lord, please pray for my sister, Breanna Chadwick. She has been in a horrible accident. We need all the prayers we can get for her. They [are] airlifting her to Erlanger Hospital and the doctors said to prepare for the worst,”Kirstin Chadwick, her sister, posted the following on Facebook.

Chadwick died after being taken to Chattanooga’s hospital.

According to the local outlet the Saddle Club claimed that “after a lot of tears and heavy consideration,”After speaking with their family, they continued with the planned events for the weekend.

“You could always find her at Chick-fil-A getting a lemonade or at Bruster’s getting a single scoop of birthday cake ice cream. She loved the color teal, her jeep, Lily, and Peanut, but most of all she loved her family and friends,”The family left a note in her obituary.

Wednesday, March 31st is the day of Chadwick’s funeral.

According to Reinhardt College’s Price School of Education, Chadwick fulfilled her goal of helping people by being an organ donor.

Friends of the family have set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for Chadwick’s funeral expenses.

Her community has raised more than $21,000. Some of the raised funds will go towards creating a scholarship in Breanna’s name, according to the outlet.
