GAMESCOM is one of the world’s biggest gaming conventions, where numerous big announcements are made for major upcoming titles.
We’ve rounded up all the news from Germany, so you can find out all the biggest announcements for upcoming games in one place.

Everywhere
GTA boss Leslie Benzies presented the first trailer of Everywhere, a new game set in a mysterious and varied world.
The preview featured game footage, concept art, and comments from the development team.

Build a Rocket Boy, the studio behind the game, says it wants to create a “whole new world” where players can play and create.
Although there is not yet a release date, the Everywhere game will be released in 2023. Expect more announcements soon.
New Tales from the Borderlands
Telltale Games was known for its amazing episodic games based on popular franchises.
Telltale has created a number of amazing titles, including Batman and The Walking Dead, as well as popular fairy tales like The Wolf Among Us.
Tales from the Borderlands’ first season was released in 2014. Fans are eager to see more.

While a second season was rumoured to be in the works, all that was disrupted by the studios sudden closure in 2018
Telltale Games might be gone, but that doesn’t stop Borderlands developer Gearbox Software from coming up with a successor title.
New Tales from The Borderlands will release on October 21. The game features new characters as well as a new story set inside the Borderlands universe.
This game will be released for PlayStation, Xbox and PC along with the original Tales from the Borderlands bonus.
Dune: Awakening
Developer Funcom unveiled Dune: Awakening, a brand-new open-world survival MMO game set in the Dune universe.
The game will take places on Arrakis. Its developers have drawn inspiration from Frank Herbert’s novels, as well the Oscar-winning film adaptation of Denis Villeneuve.

“Dune: Awakening combines the grittiness and creativity of survival games with the social interactivity of large-scale, persistent multiplayer games to create a unique and ambitious Open World Survival MMO,” says the official blurb.
There is no word on Dune Awakening’s exact release date. However, we know that it will be coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X, as well as PC.
PS5 DualSense Edge controller
Well, this is not a new game, but Sony decided to surprise us by unveiling a new “pro” version of its DualSense controller for the PlayStation 5.
DualSense Edge will be similar to the Xbox Elite and feature customizable buttons on the back. The stick caps can be swapped and they are also replaceable.
The controller lets you save control profiles so that you can always have your favorite key-bindings.

The additional features and improvements of the DualSense Edge are geared more towards hardcore or professional gamers who demand top performance and seek that competitive edge in fast-paced multiplayer games.
Sony has yet to announce details on pricing, color options, or a launch date, but they will soon make more announcements about the new controller.
The Callisto Protocol
We got an early glimpse of The Callisto Protcol at the Summer Game Fest back in June and a few more peeks ever since.
Today, Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showed some new gameplay showcasing a new mutations mechanic and more gory scenes than what we’ve seen so far.

The horror title, touted as the spiritual successor to hit game Dead Space, is coming December 2 for Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC.
Gotham Knights
One of the most highly anticipated upcoming RPGs for 2022 got plenty of attention at Gamescom.
WB Games Montreal, the developer of Gotham Knights, released a new trailer that focused on the antagonists in the game.
We learned that Clayface and Harley Quinn will be included in the game, along with previously unknown supervillains Mr. Freeze.

Also, eager DC Comics fans will have to wait four days less, as the game got a new earlier release date, and is now slated for October 21, 2022.
Set in the titular town, four of Batman’s besties — Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl, and Robin — team up to take on the Court of Owls following the Dark Knight’s death.
Each character has a different playstyle and you can choose which one of them to play.
Hogwarts Legacy
While fans were disappointed that the Harry Potter-based game was recently delayed until February 2023, hearts were lightened by the latest footage.
This footage shows some darker moments in the game, and gives a hint that players may resort to the Dark arts using the Crutiatus curse.

While the big man himself won’t be appearing in the latest game, you will be given the chance to explore Hogwarts yourself as if you were a real wizard.
Fans were concerned when the release date was originally set for 2021. However, it was delayed twice in order to make the game as popular as possible.
Pre-orders for the game will open on August 25, and it will be released officially on February 10, 2023.
Sonic Frontiers

While 2D Sonic Origins was released earlier this year, Sonic Frontiers is the next 3D game in the franchise.
It hopes to reinvent the Sonic franchise much like Sonic Adventure did in the ‘90s, by putting the blue blur in an open world.
The Gamescom trailer showed gameplay and a cut scene, and attempted to provide more information about this new reboot about the blue hedgehog.
One day before the Gamescom announcement, a Japanese trailer revealed that a November 8th 2022 release date was being announced.
Goat Simulator 3
No, you didn’t miss out on Goat Simulator 2. Goat Simulator 3 is the third game in the series, just to confuse everyone.
Its quirky gameplay and challenging challenges made the original 2014 game a cult hit.

Tonight’s Gamescom show revealed first in-game footage with more of the same sandbox adventure plus seven multiplayer minigames.
We’re getting the new game this year with probably none of the bugs ironed out. Goat Simulator 3 will be released November 17, 2022.
Lies of P
Lies of P is a game based on the story of Pinocchio but with a hardcore gameplay inspired by Dark Souls and a steampunk art style reminiscent of Bloodborne.
Lies of P is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Return to Monkey Island
Return of Monkey Island, which is set to bring back a legendary adventure game series from the 90s, got a release date.

The game is coming September 19. Pre-orders open today. Early birds will get special in-game horse armour as a bonus.
Return to Monkey Island is available on Nintendo Switch and PC.
Genshin Impact 3.0
Genshin Impact also made an appearance at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live to showcase it’s new Update 3.0.
The new Sumeru region and the new characters that will be included in the update were shown on the gameplay footage.
The Expanse: A Telltale Series
A new game based on The Expanse TV series and books was announced.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series tells the story of Camina Drummer, one of the major characters in the TV show.
The game will be released in Summer 2023.
Age of Empires IV free DLC
The Ottomans and Malians are coming as new playable civilizations in strategy game Age of Empires IV.
Gamescom’s Opening Night Live featured a new Art of War challenge in the new free content pack.
These two new civilizations will become available October 25, 2022.
Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2 is an action RPG that has been in development hell for a while.
The cinematic trailer we saw at Gamescom proved that the game is alive and well and it finally has a release date – February 3, 2023.

The gameplay footage included the player using fuel trucks as an explosive trap, several makeshift weapons, and various zombie types. It was so violent that the video had to be censored.
