But, the abundance of badass female characters did not mean that the kingdoms would embrace women as leaders or soldiers. House of the DragonThe film will transport viewers to Westeros in an entirely different era, but certain things remain the exact same. A Song of Ice and FireAnd Fire & Blood author George R.R. Martin explained why the Kingdoms of Westeros were not keen on women getting ahead in his fantasy world.
House of the DragonAs the Targaryens are in turmoil, King Viserys I plans to give Princess Rhaenyra the crown. This will present the problem of women having power or not. Others believe Viserys’ brother Daemon should rule, since a woman never sat at the Iron Throne. George R.R. Martin spoke about this during the panel at San Diego Comic-Con. He noted that his books were not more harsh on women than real-life historical events.
Inspiration comes from history. Then I take parts of history and turn it up to 11. Games of Thrones, as many have noticed, is loosely based on the War of the Roses. [House of the Dragon]It is based on the Anarchy period of history. I don’t believe Westeros is more anti-woman than real life or more misogynistic that what we call history.
George R.R. believes that the history of women being punished or overlooked is a sad fact. Martin. This is not good news for the women of House of the DragonBut then, as the author stated, he takes. “inspiration from history.” Perhaps the fictional kingdoms will be somewhat kinder – or at least less oppressive – to characters like Rhaenyra and Rhaenys, since they have dragons.
The powerful women of power are, naturally. Game of ThronesThey didn’t all have happy endings, no matter how hard they tried. Cersei, Daenerys and all their evil deeds were both tragically ended. Sansa was through at least seven hells before being crowned Queen of North. Arya was unable to be with her family for most of the series, so she left them.
When it comes to House of the DragonAccording to reports, Rhaenyra Tarrayen will have to face her own trials in order for her to keep her place as the rightful heir at the Iron Throne. The new series won’t feature sexual violence. This may not be what HBO Max subscribers and viewers might have expected. Game of Thrones. Consider that George R.R.
