Familie in Great Need of Help: 2 Girls Rescued from Car Crash that Killed Mom

California family in mourning seeks two Samaritans to rescue two teenage girls from a car accident that claimed their mother.

Bonnie Baum Roth was driving her daughters to a dance competition with her SUV when she lost control and crashed down an embankment in southern San Diego County. Authorities said that it was a tragic accident. The mother of two, aged 35, was not wearing a seatbelt and was forced to be ejected.

Left inside the mangled car were daughters Moxie, 9, and Roxie, 3. Two unidentified men rushed to the wreckage as gas was pouring from the SUV. They pulled the children out, according to their family.

“The two girls are safe all thanks to the (heroes) who helped them at the scene,”Cheryl Baum, Roth’s mother, wrote about a GoFundMeFund established to support the family. “This has been (an) earth shattering loss to the huge community of people that Bonnie touched in her short amount of time here.”

The good Samaritans comforted the children and covered their mother’s body to shield it from view, their grandmother said. “They were screaming and it was hard to get them out. Baum stated to ABC 10 that they could have been killed.
