Google Play Store already removed this app which launched in 2016.
Messenger Lite will cease to function in September for anyone using it.
An alert states that “Messenger Lite will no longer be available on Sep 18,” and it’s not going to work.
Meta has not given a specific reason for the discontinuation of Messenger Lite.
Users will need to use the Messenger main app to carry on conversations.

“There is a specific reason people use Lite: they just want to *message* without the bloat and ceaseless need of “features” competing for attention.
