A regional airline is gearing up to launch an exciting brand-new route from a quaint airport in the UK to an enchanting European destination. Holiday-goers in Southampton are in for a treat as they will soon have the opportunity to jet off to Caen in France when the new route kicks off later this year.

Introducing the Southampton to Caen Route

Southampton Airport Welcomes Chalair Aviation

Southampton Airport, known for its current array of foreign destinations including Alicante, Amsterdam, Faro, Majorca, Malaga, and Paris, will now be adding Caen to its list of seasonal destinations starting from the end of June. This new route will be operated by Chalair Aviation, marking Southampton Airport as the first UK airport to be served by this regional airline.

Convenient Flight Schedule

Commencing on June 28, 2024, the airline will fly twice a week between Southampton and Caen, offering flights every Friday and Sunday, ideal for a weekend getaway. Flights departing from Southampton will take off at 10.30 am on Fridays, arriving in Caen at 12.15 pm local time. Return flights on Sundays will depart from Caen at 4.45 pm, landing back in the UK at 4.30 pm local time, boasting a quick flight time of just 45 minutes.

Extended Stay Options

For travelers wishing to linger a bit longer in the charming French city, outbound flights are available on Sunday afternoons as well. Departing from Southampton at 5.15 pm, these flights will touch down in Caen at 7 pm. Return flights from Caen will take off at 10 am every Friday, reaching back in the UK at 9.45 am.
