Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City: New Theme Park to Open in 2026
MATTEL has teased adventure seekers that they will soon be in for a wild ride as a new theme park is set to open in western Wyandotte County.

Mattel Inc. is the mastermind behind beloved childhood toy brands such as Fisher-Price, Barbie, and Hot Wheels.
Fantastic Attractions at Mattel Adventure Park
They have partnered with Epic Resort Destinations to launch their second family-friendly park, following their Arizona destination.
“Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City will bring our iconic brands to life with epic roller coasters, family-friendly attractions, an immersive theatre, themed dining, and so much more,” said Josh Silverman, Chief Franchise Officer at Mattel.
“We are thrilled to expand these themed entertainment destinations and invite new fans to experience the world of Mattel in all-new ways as they create lasting memories with loved ones.”
Visitors to the destination in Bonner Springs, Kansas, can expect the same attractions as those offered at Mattel Adventure Park Glendale, Arizona.
Adrenaline junkies have the choice of rollercoasters Hot Wheels Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride and the Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer.
Unsurprisingly following the success of the Barbie movie, there is an interactive Barbie Beach House that features a Barbie-themed flying theater alongside a rooftop restaurant and bar.
A He-Man vs. Skeletor Laser Tag, an 18-hole mini-golf experience inspired by Magic 8 Ball, Pictionary, and a large UNO climbing structure are among the nostalgic attractions.
Exciting Expansion and Partnerships
The park, which opens in 2026, is designed to be suitable for all ages.
Alongside five Thomas and Friends: World of Sodor-themed “experiential attractions and rides” is an indoor play area for small children.
Mark Cornell, President of Epic Resort Destinations, said they are “excited” and “proud” to team up with Mattel.
“We are bringing Mattel’s powerhouse brands to life through state-of-the-art technology and engaging experiences,” he said.
“This new destination is sure to provide infinite fun for the whole family.”
The announcement comes after the Mattel Adventure Park in Arizona was pushed back from opening last year.
America’s Best Theme Park Rides
The official opening date and ticket prices have not yet been announced.
The new Mattel theme parks coincide with the construction of the American Heartland Theme Park.
The attraction, which will be as big as Disneyland, is scheduled to open off Route 66 in northeast Oklahoma in 2026.
In addition to rides, rollercoasters, and restaurants, it will feature live shows and an indoor water park.
An estimated 4.9 million visitors are expected to travel to the park annually.
In spring 2025, the first phase will open with cabins and RVs, while guests will have to wait until 2026 to go to the theme park and resort.
