Braunwyn’s Financial Struggle and New Beginnings

REAL Housewives of Orange County alum Braunwyn Windham-Burke and her ex-husband Sean Burke are embroiled in a bitter dispute over child and spousal support, The U.S. Sun reports exclusively. The former couple finalized their divorce in November 2023 after 23 years of marriage and raising seven children in Orange County, California.

Since their divorce, Braunwyn and Sean have both relocated to Franklin, Tennessee. Braunwyn has found solace with her fiancée, Jennifer Spinner, while Sean moved in with the couple briefly in April 2023 before moving out in December.

In a recent court filing on March 19, 2024, Sean requested a modification of child support in Tennessee, citing a significant variance that warranted adjustments. He sought to align the support payments with the Tennessee Child Support Guidelines and requested Braunwyn to cover his legal fees related to the case.

In response, Braunwyn filed a petition for civil contempt on April 5, 2024, highlighting Sean’s alleged non-compliance with their previous court-ordered agreement. This agreement mandated Sean to pay $6,000 monthly for the care of their four minor children and an additional $5,000 per month in spousal support. Despite these stipulations, Braunwyn claimed Sean failed to fulfill his financial obligations, accumulating a shortfall of nearly $106,000.

Additionally, Braunwyn emphasized that Sean owed her a total of $142,000, inclusive of child support, spousal support, and attorney fees. The court documents revealed that Sean had only paid a fraction of this amount, leaving a substantial outstanding balance.

Despite serving Sean with the necessary legal documentation on April 12, he has yet to respond to the allegations. The U.S. Sun attempted to reach out to both parties for comments on the ongoing legal battle.

This recent conflict over financial support is not the first instance of discord between Braunwyn and Sean. In November 2023, prior to their divorce finalization, Sean had requested a reduction in monthly child support payments, citing an increased timeshare with the children as the basis. However, the court denied his request, solidifying the existing support agreement.

Amidst the legal wrangling, Braunwyn took to Instagram on April 15, 2024, to shed light on her financial struggles post-separation from Sean in 2021. She shared her journey of rebuilding her life and pursuing new career opportunities following the end of her 24-year stint as a stay-at-home mom. Braunwyn expressed gratitude for the support provided by her family during this challenging period and remained hopeful for a brighter future ahead.

As the legal battle between Braunwyn and Sean continues to unfold, the intricacies of their shared past and diverging paths serve as a poignant reminder of the complexities often intertwined with divorce and co-parenting arrangements.
