Jan. 6: The committee regrouped for its seventh public hearing. It was focused on the Oath Keepers militia group of far-right and its connection with former President Trump’s inner circle. Jason Van Tatenhove, a former member of the Oath Keeper group, was a speaker for the committee. According to reports, the group played a significant role in the attack on the U.S. Capitol. Stewart Rhodes, Oath Keepers leader and ex-wife of the man who led them, says that he was intent on seizing power.
