The main action of this year’s US Open will commence on Monday August 29th and run until Sunday September 11th. Qualifiers take place from Tuesday August 23rd to Friday August 26th.

Tickets are available to purchase directly onthe US Open official websiteand there are a variety of packages to choose from.
The most affordable packages are:
- Pre-Holiday Sessions at $240 per person, which includes tickets for 4 total sessions at the Arthur Ashe Stadium from August 31st to September 2nd.
- First-Round Sessions at $250 per person, which includes tickets for 5 total sessions at the Arthur Ashe Stadium from August 29th to 31st.
- Holiday Weekend Evening Sessions at $320 per person, which includes tickets for 4 total sessions at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Specific packages for the Championship Week Sessions, Grandstand Day Sessions, and the Arthur Ashe Stadium Full Series will become available at a later date. A word of warning, however: these packages are expected to be quite pricey, so you’ll probably want to book a cheaper package if you’re operating on a budget.
Individual tickets for single matches, meanwhile, will go on sale on Monday June 6th.
US Open 2022 Fan Week
Much to the delight of US-based tennis fans, the US Open Fan Week will make a return to the schedule this year. A week-long session leading up to the main action, this unique event gives fans free access to the tennis centre and the Qualifying Tournament.
As tradition dictates, there will also be a Legends match between renowned former US Open superstars, as well as open player practice, live music and a variety of entertainment options.

- 3rd Round matches for men and women will take place from Friday September 2nd to Saturday September 3rd. Daytime matches begin at 11am and nighttime matches at 7pm.
- Round of 16 matches for men and women will take place from Sunday September 4th to Monday September 5th. Daytime matches begin at 11am and nighttime matches at 7pm.
- Quaterfinals for men and women will take place from Tuesday September 6th to Wednesday September 7th . Daytime matches will begin at 12pm and nighttime matches at 7pm.
- Women’s semifinals will take place on Thursday September 8th at 12pm.
- Men’s and Women’s Doubles semifinals will take place on Thursday September 8th at 12pm.
- Men’s semifinals 1 will take place on Friday September 9th at 12pm.
- Men’s Doubles/Mixed Doubles finals will take place on Friday September 9th at 12pm.
- Men’s semifinals 2 will take place on Friday September 9th at 7pm.

A Brief History of the US Open
Today’s tournament is unrecognisable from the event that started it all way back in 1881. The U.S National Championship, as it was known then, was an exclusive tournament focusing solely on men’s singles and doubles matches. Open only to those clubs that were members of the US National Lawn Tennis Association, the tournament was originally held in Newport, R.I.
In 1887, the tournament expanded to include women’s singles and doubles events, with mixed doubles following in 1892. All five of the championships took place at several different locations up until 1968, when a common site was finally decided upon at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, Queens.
Not long after this unification, a name change was called for, rebranding the tournament the US Open. Fittingly, the event also moved to a new home in Flushing Meadows in 1978, where it’s been played out on DecoTurf courts ever since.
