Erika Jayne was previously named in lawsuits along with her estranged husband Tom Girardi. These lawsuits alleged that Tom’s wrongdoing was financing both their lives. As PeopleReports in January indicated that one plaintiff requested Jayne hand over $750,000 worth of earrings she had gifted to her. The earrings were secretly charged to a client account. Jayne and her legal staff were steadfast in controlling this story. “I am disturbed by everyone jumping to conclusions about Erika, who is innocent, and trying to blame her for the actions of others,” said her lawyer, Evan C. Borges. “The trustee has no claim based on Erika innocently receiving a gift of earrings 15 years ago from her now-estranged and then-extraordinarily wealthy husband.”
However, victims of the scheme do not give up hope for retribution. According to Us Weekly, a new court filing claim “Erika knew of the scheme, intended to participate in it and — critically — share in its profits.”Further, the doctor added that “Despite her public claims that she and Tom were spending their own money, financial records show that more than $25 million of her own expenses were paid by Girardi Keese [Girardi’s firm] in furtherance of the Girardi Family Enterprise’s illegal scheme.”
Jayne does not seem to be worried about the $55million in damages. The Daily MailRecently, I saw her going to a spa for a treatment. Time will reveal if her calm demeanor, similar to her husband’s legal firm, is a facade.
