‘Elvis’ Breakout Olivia DeJonge Joins Cooper Raiff’s “The Thrashers’

Olivia DeJonge has joined the cast of Cooper Raiff’s “The Trashers.”

The deal comes on the heels of DeJonge’s breakout performance in “Elvis,”In which she played Priscilla, the wife to the King of Rock. This movie, which was directed towards older audiences, grossed $200 million globally over the weekend. DeJonge received praises from critics, awards watchers, and USA Today gave her a high rating. “spot-on” and Gold Derby’s Edward Douglas singling out her “emotional scenes with [co-star Austin] Butler”and describes her work as “head-turning.”

In “The Thrashers,”Cooper Hoffman will also be joining the DeJonge group.“Licorice Pizza”) and David Harbour of “Stranger Things” fame. The film is not yet known, but it reportedly tells the story of Jimmy Galante (a garbage tycoon who has ties to Genovese crime families). It’s Raiff’s follow up to “Cha Cha Real Smooth,”This romantic drama was a hit at Sundance where it sold for $15M to Apple. Raiff also directed 2020’s acclaimed indie “Shithouse.”

“The Thrashers”Filming will begin in New Jersey this fall. Many studios are already in pursuit of distribution rights.

DeJonge also appeared in M. Night Shyamalan’s horror hit “The Visit,”HBO’s limited series “The Staircase,”The Netflix drama series “The Society.”Other credits include the TNT Series “Will”The films “Josie & Jack”And “Stray Dolls.”CAA represents DeJonge
