EE HOPE UNITED QUAD ASSEMBLES TO TACKLE ONLINE SUSPECT HATE
EE has unveiled its Hope United squad, a team of footballers committed to combatting online sexist hate during this summer’s UEFA Women’s European Championships with a series of digital skills on how to take a stand against the problem. EE Hope United will bring together professional soccer players to show the positive impact that men can make by supporting women during the Euros. It encourages them to confront the problem of sexist abuse online and offline. This year’s squad will be managed by England head coach Gareth Southgate who has delivered an emotive appeal to men across the UK, asking them to stand together in supporting women this summer and beyond, and encouraging them to become upstanders as opposed to bystanders. As lead partner of the four home nation football associations, EE is committed to providing new opportunities to promote digital and skills initiatives while encouraging a new generation of girls and women to participate in football. For more information on Hope United visit:ee.co.uk/hopeunited
