Recent reports from Newsweek suggest that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has unveiled a new chapter in UFO encounters on the battlefield. In a video shared on social media, Ukrainian fighters captured footage of a “disc-shaped object” while operating a drone.
The Unidentified Object in Ukraine
The video, initially documented by The Daily Mail, was recorded in February using one of Ukraine military’s 300 “heat vision” quadcopter drones. The small drone was flying at an altitude of 500 feet above sea level and approximately 30 miles away from the mysterious object.
Verifying the UFO Footage
Newsweek acknowledged their inability to independently verify the authenticity of the video, revealing that attempts to seek clarification from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry remained unanswered due to the Ministry’s current engagements.
Soldiers’ Reactions to the UFO Encounter
In the footage, one soldier is heard questioning why the object is not initiating any hostile actions, while another expresses confusion about the object’s stationary position. As the conversation continues, one soldier humorously suggests the idea of “ramming” the UFO with the quadcopter.

According to Newsweek, additional UFO sightings have been reported since the commencement of the war in Ukraine in 2022. In January of the previous year, the governor of Russia’s Rostov region documented the destruction of a “small-size object resembling a ball” by Russian military forces, mirroring similar incidents in the United States involving reported balloons and objects targeted by the Air Force.
