Dragon Ball Super Cast reveals that Gamma 1 & 2 are very different from regular Androids

The Dragon Ball Super Super Hero cast discusses in detail what makes Gamma 1 (and Gamma 2) tick.

Numerous terrifying Androids are featured throughout Dragon Ball, and two new robotic characters have been added to Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

Gamma 1 Gamma 2 Both are creations of the semievilDr Hedo, built to be the next generations of Androids that the Red Ribbon army hope to use for world domination after Cell’s demise.

HITC were lucky enough to get the chance to talk to both Aleks Le and Zeno Robinson, the voice actors for Gamma 1 and 2, and grill them on why these two new characters aren’t just your typical Dragon Ball Androids.

Gamma 1 und 2 are not your standard Dragon Ball Androids

Aleks Le, the actor who plays Gamma 1 on the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, explained why the two Androids are so unique to the franchise: “Even to the point of their visual designs, I thought it was a very unique look that we haven’t seen in a long time just to get characters who seem kind of completely out of nowhere.”

“I thought it was interesting to introduce them through this method because I think as an audience member, it invites a lot more mystery and intrigue on, understanding these guys and their philosophy and why they are the way they are. So for me, it was definitely, [laughing] really cool to take a look at that.” – Aleks Le, via Press Event.

Zeno Robinson would like to add his voice as Gamma 2 “Agreed, I think a lot of the times when we’ve seen a previous Androids, they are of a little leaning more into the, especially in their first appearance, they’re villainous natures.”

Robinson would then tell us that these are two “very clearly people that you don’t want to mess with. [Androids] used to have like the soulless eyes and these two, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, have more flamboyant personalities.”

“Their personalities are very theatrical and bombastic, even if like Gamma 1 is more theatrical and bombastic [than] on the like stoic side, but they are already introduced as superheroes, even though they’re the villains of the film. They have these hearts that are set on justice, which immediately separates them from the more villainous or the more malted natures of the previous Androids we’ve seen.” – Zeno Robinson, via Press Event.

What are the differences in Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 respectively?

“Well, Gamma 2 is much more outgoing [laughing] and I feel like since their theme is superheroes, they lean on both sides of what a superhero needs to be,” says Le.

“Gamma 2’s focus is really on presentation and how the hero would look like striking cool poses or, saying cool one-liners and Gamma 1 is more on the back end where it’s like, the analytical side and understanding your enemy and learning to fight or making sure that you cover all of your tracks so that the villains can’t get away. So, they’re both two sides to the same coin, basically.” – Aleks Le, via Press Event

“Where Gamma 2 elevates Gamma 1 in a way that brings Gamma 2 a little bit out of a shell, a little out of the seriousness of what being a hero means,”Robinson explained. “Gamma 1 very much grounds Gamma 2 into the realities of being a hero. It’s not always about flashy poses – sometimes you have to get work done, you have to enact justice.”

“That’s the balancing act that the two play, with Gamma 2’s boisterous and playful nature and Gamma 1 is more kind of stoic and reserved, but very noble I think in nature.” – Zeno Robinson, via Press Event.

Dragon Ball Super Hero: We are working together

The two revealed that they were in fact the same person. “have been close friends for a long time”And had “always wanted to be in something together when we’re not…“Fighting each other, Enemies” [interjects Robinson whilst laughing].

Le shared how “This was an interesting process because even down to the audition process, we got to audition with each other, which is basically unheard of in any sort of voice acting medium – especially in anime.”

The voice actor would then say how “The dynamic was so much fun and just being able to share that with him in the booth on the day of recording, being there together was like something very unique.”

“I also think like Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 are kind of reflections of our personality [and that] advanced to 10/10. So, it was really easy, I think for each of us to sort of lean into those respective things within ourselves. Then we had the added benefit of being able to record together, we could just jump in when we had an idea or something the other did that inspired us.” – Zeno Robinson, via Press Event.

Robinson would end the interview by saying that the two characters were so connected because of their shared experiences. “played off of one another, gave each other ideas of how something should sound”During recording sessions.

“Then when we had an idea, we would ask our wonderful director, Chris [Sabot], and he would be gracious enough to let us kind of swap in and out if we wanted, especially a scene with the two of them together to sound more like we were actually both there.” – Zeno Robinson, via Press Event.
