Kroll stressed that the film was not based on reality and much of the controversy was fabricated. Kroll said that he enjoyed being with his fellow actors even though he was filming the movie during the COVID pandemic. Kroll continued:
All the absurdity, so much it was nonsense, it was like: “Yeah, it’s okay to talk about it, this is insane.”‘… we made it in the thick of COVID, pre-vaccine when L.A. was an epicenter, and it was incredibly stressful. But, it was a lot of fun when we were actually working, and when we were just hanging out with other people making the film.
It wouldn’t have been the first time that cast members had to deny the drama.
