In 2021, the country was captivated by the mysterious details surrounding Gabby Petito’s murder. The 22-year old was found dead in Wyoming just weeks after he had camped in the same area as his boyfriend Brian Laundrie. He too went unaccounted for during the investigation by the police. This led to Dog the Bounty Hunter joining the manhunt. The TV vet, whose real name is Duane Chapman, spoke out when that search finally ended (as law enforcement discovered Laundrie’s remains in Florida), saying he was grateful there was some resolution for the family. The bounty hunter is now seeking information about another prominent disappearance.
This case involves Kiely Rodni (16 years old), who mysteriously disappeared on August 6, after she was last seen at a Lake Tahoe high-school party in Truckee. During a briefing this week, police officials announced they were in fact scaling back their efforts after 10 days and 16,000 man-hours were put in without any clues to Rodni’s whereabouts being found, per Fox News. However, they’re “still looking for any clues, videos, tips [or] any information”Dog the Bounty Hunter was created to assist the searchers in a limited area.
Though he wasn’t directly involved in the recovery of Brian Laundrie, the former A&E star’s connection generated thousands of tips in the case via his own hotline. Recently, his representative shared with TMZ that, pertaining to the Kiely Rodni case, he’s once again been receiving a slew of tips and emails asking him to join the hunt.
The rep says that the 69-year old isn’t hesitant to offer his services due to the criticisms he has received regarding the Brian Laundrie manhunt. Most notably, fans and even Laundrie’s family had slammed Dog the Bounty Hunter for only appearing to get involved to gain publicity. It didn’t help, either, when reports suggested Dog was angling for a TV return around the same time with the production company that created the Marriage Boot CampFranchise and other major reality TV shows
Duane was born. “Dog” Chapman will only join up future investigations, including Kiely Rodni’s, under one of two conditions. He stated that Chapman must be invited in by a family member, law enforcement agency, or the missing person must have been officially declared missing for 21 days. The conditions to invite the notorious bounty hunter into the Rodni Investigation have not been met as of writing.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been busy elsewhere. After taking a tumble in Season 7 of The Masked Singer Which Hulu subscribers have the ability to stream Dog the Bounty Hunter. This is after a double Utah murder. Crystal Turner and Kylen Schulte were both found dead in La Sal mountains in August. Due to delays in finding their murderer, the father of one decided to enlist the CMT alum. Although there was speculation that the case of Gabby Petitio/Brian Laundrie might have been connected to it, because one of the victims worked as a cashier in the same place the couple were spotted, law enforcement has ruled this out. Their case remains unsolved.
Dog the Bounty Hunter will most likely give any tips he may have about Kiely Rodni to the police leading the search. It seems that his participation in the search will be indirect.
