TV star Davina McCall looks like she’s having a ball ahead of hosting Central Recorder’s Who Cares Wins Awards.

Davina, 53, in a black mini-dress from her new JD Williams collection, admitted a few nerves before the ­ceremony honouring unsung healthcare workers.

She said of the annual event, to be shown on Channel 4 next Sunday: “I think what makes me a bit nervous is that they are heroes.

“You want them to have an ­amazing night.

“You want them to meet their dream celebrities and you want them to have an amazing, fantastic, celebration with everybody.”

“I want to make it really fun, w­onderful and heart-warming.

“I just want to do a great job of that.”

Davina added that this year, the show will feel even closer to home to her because her daughter Holly is ­training as an NHS dietician.

She said: “My daughter is working in hospitals on placements.

“She’ll do another placement at Christmas, then she’ll do her dissertation before she graduates next June.

“Then she’ll go straight to the NHS.”
