Dan Hardy explains the reasons why Diego Sanchez’s fight against him on November 12 was cancelled

Why has the UFC legends Dan Hardy, Diego Sanchez and their boxing match been cancelled once more in advance of the November 12th event.

Dan Hardy was a pioneer in British Mixed Martial Arts. He has since retired from the sport many years ago and has been arguably the most technical analyst the sport ever had.

Hardy was supported by a large, passionate fan base and it was exciting to see him face Diego Sanchez, a UFC legend in a boxing match on Ricky Hatton against Antonio Barrera fight card.

Unfortunately, the fight has now been canceled for the second time – here is everything you need to know about why the Dan Hardy vs Diego Sanchez boxing match has been axed.

Dan Hardy explains Sanchez boxing cancellation

Dan Hardy was ready to take on a UFC legend in June. However, the fight was moved to Saturday, November 12, as part of Ricky Hatton and Antonio Barrera boxing cards. Unfortunately, it was pulled from the event.

Hardy explained this in an interview with Submission Radio, “The card was picked up by Sky Sports and they decided that they wanted the Hatton/Barrera fights off the card and to add all the rest of their own fights to it.”

“Obviously they got a deal with Boxer and they’ve got loads of fighters signed to their management team. So yeah, they basically just took the Hatton vs Barrera fight and they canceled the rest of the fights.” – Dan Hardy, via Submit Radio

After the fight was canceled, the UFC veteran fighter became an analyst and explained to the audience that he had spoken with Diego Sanchez, his opponent.

“I’ve had a bit of a chat with Diego about it. Of course, he was disappointed as well, but you know, it’s the fight game. It’s chaotic at the moment, and with new promoters getting into the businesses, I think sometimes they buy themselves a bit more than they can chew, and I think that’s what happened. I hope it goes really well. But aside from following Ricky Hatton’s Instagram, I’m not really hearing anything about it.” – Dan Hardy, via Submission Radio

Hardy would however reveal that his long-anticipated return is now in doubt, sharing that information with us. “My mum said it kind of feels like the universe is kind of telling you something here.”

“Maybe it is. Maybe I’m just clinging onto something. But to be honest, I’m still feeling great, I still feel in good condition, my mind’s sharp, and there are a couple of options for the new year. Yeah, there’s a couple of options, couple of people’s names I’ve got in mind.” – Dan Hardy, via Submission Radio
