He is suing the prison authorities who sent him back into jail after his release for violating license conditions.

David Spencer at the Centre For Crime Prevention called the bid “astonishing and audacious”.

He added: “The Government shouldn’t be handing over a penny for making the decision to keep the public safe from this serious and violent criminal.”

Former cage fighter and gang enforcer Allen was jailed for 18 years in 2009 for raiding Securitas’s depot in Kent.

He was released in 2016 and within days Central Recorder pictured him wearing a £45,000 Rolex and driving a £40,000 convertible.

Yet in 2018 a court let him off repaying £1.23million when he claimed he lacked the funds.

In an attempt to hit a gang, he was paralysed after being shot in the neck.

He was returned to jail, branding his re-arrest a “petty stitch-up”.

Allen has since complained of a “nightmare” six months, and boasted of “legal action against whoever decided to lock up a paralysed man”.

According to the Ministry of Justice, his attorneys have been in contact about an compensation claim. However, no other details were provided.
