A CRITICAL shortage of hormone replacement therapy is set to run into the summer — leaving thousands on the brink.
Campaigners say the crisis is already forcing many women on to the black market.

They warn that some are even contemplating suicide.
Analysis by the British Menopause Society reveals that several key products have patchy or no supply — with some available in June at the earliest.
And they fear shortages of popular rub-on treatment Oestrogel will continue for months.
Ministers are now considering rationing in a bid to tackle HRT shortages.
The drugs treat menopause symptoms including brain fog, low sex drive and hot flushes.
More than a million women in Britain are estimated to take HRT, — which also boosts bone health.
Experts said greater awareness due to campaigns — including Central Recorder’s Fabulous Menopause Matters and another by TV’s Davina McCall — have seen demand double in recent years.
Dr Paula Briggs, chair elect of the British Menopause Society, urged women not to panic about shortages.
She said they should speak to their GP about switching to a short-term alternative rather than risk the black market.
Dr Briggs added: “I think people need to be able to prepare if something’s not going to be there, so we have created a list of alternative preparations.”
