If Donald Trump were to be sentenced in prison, it could create a major security problem for the Secret Service. The law guarantees round-the-clock protection by the Secret Service to all former Presidents for life. In a statement, the Secret Service says “No policy or procedure currently exists” to cover a former president going to prison. Washington Post reported that if Trump is convicted, the Secret Service might insist upon home confinement.
