Cops Save Woman from Homeless Man with Garden Sheers

Los Angeles woman was attacked in the head with garden sheers by a homeless man. This unprovoked attack left her with serious brain injuries. Los Angeles Police Departmentsaid.

According to the LAPD, Kyli Watts (22 years old) was walking in North Hollywood on Oct. 10, when the attack took place.

Watts fled the scene with the four-inch-long sheers in her head, and begged for help. New York Post. According to the Post, restaurant staff immediately called 911. She was then rushed to a nearby emergency room.

Jonathan Cole, 30, was arrested in connection to the attack, police said. His bail was set at $3.055,000. The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, which filed one count of attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Officials confirmed that Cole is being represented at the hearing by a public defense attorney. He has not entered a plea in the case. To determine whether he is mentally competent to stand trial, he has been referred by a mental hospital. His next court appearance is Nov.

After it was captured by security cameras near the scene, the LAPD uploaded footage to their YouTube channel.

Watts’ mother, Amy, spoke to Fox LAShe said that her daughter FaceTimed her as soon as the incident happened.

Amy Watts, a psychiatric nurse in North Carolina, told Fox LA she answered the call while she was at work and it was then that her daughter told her that she was stabbed.

Fox LA spoke out to Amy Watts, who said she has no hatred for the man who attacked her daughter.

“If this were a person with epilepsy that had not taken their medication and had a seizure at the wheel and hit your child crossing the street, would you really be angry, or do you understand that that’s a person with an illness?”She spoke. “That’s what we’re dealing with here.”

“To become numb and callous to it is not the right answer. These things are occurring because of systemic failure in treating mental illness,”She continued.

The New York Post reported that doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center treated Kyliwatts after the garden tool broke her skull. They had to keep the bone fragment in the place as it was very close to major blood vessels. Amy Watts explained to Fox LA that doctors told her that removing the bone fragment could have made it too dangerous for her daughter.

A GoFundMeA page has been set-up for Kyli Watts in order to pay expenses. Her family stated that any excess funds will go to mental health organizations.
