Cops Rescue Dog Walker Surrounded 9 Coyotes

Massachusetts cops did much more than serve and protect one individual from their community. They rushed into action in order to save a dog walker who was being attacked by at least nine aggressive coyotes. WDBO reported.

Police were called Saturday night by Swampscott after the dog walker failed to scare wild animals away. WFXT-TV reported.

According to cops, when they arrived on the scene, they found that they were not in control. “observed at least nine coyotes. Thankfully these coyotes appeared to be scared off by the arrival of the cruisers and the strobe lights.”

The Swampscott Police Department posted that the officers helped the caller and their pet dog return to their home without any further incident.

If cops hadn’t intervened, it would have been a very ugly situation for coyotes.

Cops posted tips to their Facebook page about how to deal with coyotes that might be in your vicinity.

“Using a variety of different hazing tools is critical so that coyotes don’t get used to redundant or single stimulus devices, sounds, and actions,”Cops added that shouting, noisemakers and throwing projectiles can all help.

They said however, “The simplest method of hazing a coyote involves being loud and large. Stand tall, wave your arms, and yell at the coyote, approaching them if necessary, until they run away.”
