Colman Domingo in Ali and Rue’s Intense Scene

  • Domingo stated that Ali was hurt by the interaction “deeply,”But believes that Rue can still be saved.

“Euphoria”Colman Domingo, the star of the HBO drama, opened up about Ali’s scene with Rue that was heartbreaking on the most recent episode. He also discussed how this will impact their dynamic in season 2.

“He’s the one person who truly accepts her whether she wants to be high or not, and just be upfront about it,”Insider was told by Domingo.

“Euphoria”Sam Levinson created, wrote, and directed the series that premiered in summer 2019. It focused on Zendaya Bennett’s struggles with addiction. Domingo plays Rue’s NA Sponsor, a role she has played on the series. She often sees through Rue’s facade and has deep discussions with her.

Season 2, Episode 3 “Euphoria”Rue was released Sunday night to show the extent to which she will go to to feed her drug addiction

Rue runs out drugs in the episode. Laurie (Martha Kelly) pitches her a business plan.

Rue’s “fool-proof system”This involves hiring under-18s to sell drugs. To give them leverage and to stop them from tattling she would have their phones uploaded onto a cloud.

“Their incentive to snitch is basically reduced to zero,”Laurie hears Rue explain to Laurie that teens would have a lot of loss if they revealed information about their suppliers.

Laurie agrees to finance Rue’s plan, and she gives Rue a suitcase with $10,000 worth drugs.

Ali notices Rue taking the suitcase to NA meetings later that day. Ali confronts Rue about her suspicious suitcase.

Ali instantly sees through Ali’s lie about schoolbooks. To which she says: “I’m not in the mood for a lecture.”

Ali is told rudely by her. “shut the fuck up,”He insults his parenting and takes the handle from her suitcase.

Ali responds by warning her to not cross the line again. Rue, however refuses to stop.

Instead, she asks Ali whether he will hit her if she gets too aggressive. Doestalk refers to the story that he told her during one special bridge episode of “Euphoria.”

Ali shared his personal life with Rue in the above episode. He revealed that he was involved in a physical fight previously with his wife. His two daughters were there to witness it. He described the moment as “rock bottom.”

Rue shared with Ali, after nearly an hour of conversation, that she enjoyed talking to him. She also agreed with many of his statements, but that she didn’t intend to be alive for very long. She said she wanted to be remembered for her work. “someone who tried really hard to be someone I couldn’t.”

Ali responded by telling Rue that he believed in Rue.

Rue, who takes aim at Ali in season 2, using his own life experience against Ali, finds it difficult to say what he needs and walks away.

“He understands that she’s high, but he doesn’t know the level and the spiral of her addiction until it hits him in the face, where she breaks a bond and smashes the faith that they’ve had in each other, that they’ve established in that bridge episode,”Insider was told by Domingo. “I think it really throws him off guard.”

The “Fear the Walking Dead”Star said that addicts can be cured “hit certain buttons,”Rue did just that in that moment.

“She wanted to trigger something in him and she did,” Domingo said.

“He just didn’t know what to say or do, so he chose nothing and just walk away,”He continued. “It hurt him deeply. I think it would truly hurt him because she used something that she knew would hurt him.”

Domingo stated that Ali and Rue’s relationship is still possible, even though it seemed like the end was near. “understands the disease of addiction, which is also very complicated.”

“He’s like ‘Yeah, she really punched me in the gut. But that wasn’t her talking. That was the disease,'” Domingo said. “So, I think he still has room in his heart and in his mind for redemption with Rue.”
