Cement Truck Hits Toddler’s SUV, Resulting in Child Death

A cement truck that fell from a highway bridge and crashed onto a 2-year-old boy crushed him to death.

The terrible accident took place three weeks ago in Houston. Workers scramble to dial 911 after realizing what happened, as surveillance video shows.

The SUV was smashed and the 2-year-old twins of the family were inside, strapped in their car seats with their mommy and grandma.

The little girl, Melanie Resendiz, survived, but her brother Nicolas was killed.

“I couldn’t believe it. I thought it was a nightmare,”Inside Edition was told by Jennifer, mom.

As her surviving daughter wiped away her tears, Jennifer said she is still in shock and can’t believe her son is gone.

A cement truck may weigh as much as 66,000 lbs or 33 tonnes.

Terry Bryant, the family’s attorney, says he believes the driver of the truck was driving dangerously.

Police say the driver is not guilty and are cooperating with the investigation.

A GoFundMeA page has been created to assist the family. The family is now suing the cement truck firm, whose representatives did not respond to requests for comment.
