Castle Rock Entertainment will be producing a feature-film sequel to Taylor Sheridan’s 2017 hit “Wind River.”The next step, entitled “Wind River: The Next Chapter,”Kari Skogland will direct the episode (episodes “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” “The Loudest Voice” “The Handmaid’s Tale” along with Paramount’s upcoming Gal Gadot-starring “Cleopatra”biopic) From a screenplay of John Zinman & Patrick Massett
Martin Sensmeier, also in episodes of “1883” “Westworld”Along with the 2016 remake “The Magnificent Seven,”Will reprise his role of Chip Hanson. Hanson will play the role of a newly created tracker for U.S. Fish & Game, as he is enlisted by the FBI to help investigate a series of ritualistic murders before becoming entangled between authorities, a vigilante and the Reservation he calls home.
Matthew George of Castle Rock Entertainment and Acacia Movieed Entertainment will produce the sequel, as well as Basil Iwanyk for Thunder Road Pictures and Erica Lee. Executive Producers include Castle Rock’s Rob Reiner, Michele Reiner, Derrick Rossi, Jonathan Fuhrman, Courtney Shepard and Hernan Narea.
Publication: Summer 2017. “Wind River”The film was well-reviewed (88% fresh) and 7.7/10 by Rotten Tomatoes (7/10 on Rotten Tomatoes). It was also a modest theatrical success with an estimated $11 million budget and $33 million domestic and $44million worldwide. Partly due to Taylor Sheridan’s popularity, Taylor Renner’s mystery drama Jeremy Renner/Elizabeth Olsen is getting a sequel. Sheridan’s “Yellowstone”This has made it one of the most viewed shows on TV.
The Kevin Costner-starring neo-western/primetime soap opera has become a linear television sensation in a streaming era, wit the season four finale pulling in the biggest live viewership for a cable show (10.3 million viewers, 9.3 million on the Paramount Network and 1 million on CMT) since 2017. The spin-off period piece “1883”Paramount+’s favorite character, has seen many spin-offs and is still in development. Harrison Ford/Helen Mirren-starring “1923”Paramount+’s premiere will be on December 18, at 8:15 PM.
