The Blue Lock anime made its debut on October 8th and has since maintained its reputation as the dark horse for the 2022 Fall slate.

The anime sports anime has more to it than meets the eyes. With its unusual cast of characters, we feel like we are watching Tokyo Revengers if the decided to get some soccer boots.

Blue Lock Episode2 was titled “Monster”Jinpachi spoke to Kira Ryosuke in shock about being dropped from the program.

Kira says that Japan’s best soccer player is not determined by the game of tag. Jinpachi disagrees and says that it is a test of one’s motivation.

The 11 remaining players are then shown that they will form a team that will live and train together during the Blue Lock program. This is something Isagi struggles to accept as he is outhustled almost by every other teammate except Igaguri.

Isagi struggles to fall asleep that night and runs across Bachira in a hallway. Bachira explained to Isagi how he feels like a monster and that he is driven to defeat his rivals.

Jinpachi explained that Blue Lock teams are grouped according to their ranking. He also said that Blue Lock’s poor environment, including training equipment, is due to the fact that they are the lowest-ranked team in the institute.

Itoshi Sae is a professional soccer player from Japan who was denied a visa to play in Europe. He becomes disenfranchised from Japanese soccer, and proceeds to denigrate the media. Then, he stumbles upon a press conference about Blue Lock. It intrigues.

The episode ends with Isagi’s team Z preparing to face their first opponents in the opening 11 v 11 game, team X enters the arena with an extremely intimidating aura.
