Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood admits he was ‘p***ed off’ by this year’s bakers

BAKE Off’s Paul Hollywood has admitted he was ‘p***ed off’ by this year’s bakers – for a surprising reason.

This week, the 55-year-old judge will return to the famed white tent for a new series on the hit Channel 4 program.

Twelve new bakers will arrive in a bid to be crowned Star Baker and win the show, with Paul and fellow judge Prue Leith tasting their efforts.

Paul is pleased to be back. However, he had one complaint about the show this year.

Speaking to lovesunday magazine, Paul said: “I put on 12 pounds in that
b***dy tent.

“Prue put on a pound! Is that a pound gained during Bake Off? That’s ridiculous.”

Paul was particularly annoyed about the weight gain as he had lost a stone and a half by following a new fitness regime ahead of the series starting filming.

He said, “All I wanted was to go home and try to lose the weight again!” I am p****d off this year for the first time about it, because I was doing really well.

“Lockdown was doing me good, not bad. But my exercise regime changed when I was in Bake Off because I wasn’t allowed to leave the bubble to cycle.”

Paul’s new routine was disrupted by the whole Bake Off team being ‘bubbled together’ in a Hertfordshire Hotel.

He stated that he used to run 10 miles per hour, so it was a problem. On our rest days, I was writing in my bedroom.

“I was getting back into old habits, so I sort of expected it. Now I’m back on it again – I’ve lost a good couple of pounds this week.”

But their bakes were so good Paul put on 12 pounds, which he wasn't happy about
