Bachelorette Party: People in the Basement of Airbnb are Shocked

A woman rented an Airbnb to host her sister’s bachelorette party. She says she was surprised when she discovered people living in the basement.

“There was a stranger in the basement, and we didn’t know he was there,”She spoke.

She claims she rented the house in Providence, Rhode Island for eight of her friends. They stayed for a weekend and had a wonderful time without realizing that they weren’t the only ones there.

“He’s basically rattling the doorknob, he’s saying, ‘Let me in, I live in the basement,’”The woman stated.

The friends called 911 to report that it was a burglar and fled upstairs.

Camera footage of officers entering the house shows them climbing through an unclosed window and going into the basement.

“Open up the door, please,”An officer states.

“Why do I need to open up the door for you? You don’t have a f****** warrant,”A woman replies.

“I don’t need a warrant. Somebody broke in here,”The cop said.

“Nobody broke in here! I live here!”The woman stated.

Video of the residents of the basement apartment speaking to police. They later proved to be legitimate tenants.

Airbnb refunded the friends, but they are still upset that Airbnb didn’t inform them of someone living in their basement apartment.

Inside Edition was informed by the property manager that the basement apartment is an entirely separate unit with its very own entrance. Airbnb has taken the house down.
