Astroworld Victim's Familie Rejects Travis Scott’s Offer to Pay For Funeral

  • Travis Scott declined to pay the funeral costs of Ezra Blount, a 9-year-old Astroworld victim.
  • Scott had offered to pay each funeral cost for any of the victims.
  • Scott was sued by Blount’s father over the concert in which 10 people were killed during a crowd surge.

Insider has received letters indicating that Travis Scott refused to pay the funeral costs of the youngest victim of the Astroworld Festival tragedy.

Ezra Blount (9) was trapped in the Houston crowd surge earlier this month. She later died after spending days in an induced medical coma.

Scott had offered to pay the funeral costs of all the people who died in November’s show.

“Travis is devastated by the tragedy that occurred at the Astroworld Festival and grieves for the families whose loved ones died or were injured,”Scott’s lawyer Daniel Petrocelli wrote to Blount families.

“Travis is committed to doing his part to help the families who have suffered and begin the long process of healing in the Houston community. Toward that end, Travis would like to pay for the funeral expenses for Mr. Blount’s son,”Petrocelli stated.

According to reports, the family of Blount rejected the offer.

“Your client’s offer is declined. I have no doubt Mr. Scott feels remorse. His journey ahead will be painful. He must face and hopefully see that he bears some of the responsibility for this tragedy,” Blount family lawyer Bob Hilliard said.

Scott’s legal staff also reached out Hilliard and the Blount families to request an in-person meet. Rolling Stone reported. The family declined the offer.

“With all due respect, no. This isn’t a photo-op story here. This is a ‘who’s responsible and why’ type of investigation. And he’s on the shortlist,”Scott was reportedly contacted by Hilliard.

Treston Blount Blount, Blount’s dad, filed a $1,000,000 lawsuit against Scott, the event’s organizers, and Scott.
