Arizona Sergeant Helps Save 2 Children in One Week with Training ‘Mom Instinct’

She was just driving by, and now two families are grateful to a police sergeant for saving their children’Your lives.

Courtney Fink, a sergeant in the Phoenix, Arizona Police Department, was in the right place at the right time, which led to her saving two children’s lives in one week.

Fink is also mother to a baby who was just three days old.

As she was driving past, she noticed a group of people surrounding a baby. They informed her that the baby had stopped breathing during feeding.

Fink provided sternum rubs and some chest rubs to the baby. The baby then sneezed and knew that her airway was clear. She said that her sneeze was the most wonderful sound.

She saved another child a few days later.

When a child in the Ross Dress for Less store had a seizure, she was right next to it. Fink worked as a 911 operator prior to joining the police department.

“I remember them talking about taking the diaper off and cooling the core and the body and the neck,”She spoke.

Fink stabilized the boy before paramedics arrived. He is doing well, according to authorities.

According to the sergeant, she was trained in saving lives. “We all do the same thing every day,” Fink said. “We’re going to calls. We get flagged down. We immediately act.”
