Ari Lennox is Detained at Dutch Airport. She Claims That She Was Racially Profiling

Ari Lennox was arrested at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport Monday, Nov. 29, with the singer claiming she was reacting to being racially profiled.

Lennox shared her account in real-time online Twitter: “Fuck Amsterdam security,”She wrote. “They hate black people.” Later, she Submitted, “They’re arresting me.”Finally, “I’m being arrested in Amsterdam for reacting to a woman racially profiling me.”

According to ReutersAccording to the Dutch military police which ensures security at Schiphol airport, Lennox was charged with disturbing the public order, aggressive behavior, and being drunk in public. Authorities were also investigating whether Lennox made threats during the incident, but no information was provided.

“Our unit found a woman full of emotions, that wouldn’t calm down,”Robert van Kapel, spokesperson for the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, stated. “That’s why she had to be taken into custody.”

Lennox’s representative did not immediately reply to my request for comment. Neither did the Dutch military police.
