A WOULD-be attacker threatened Argentina’s Vice President, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, with a gun on Thursday, according to local reports.
After no shots were fired at her home in Buenos Aires where hundreds of protestors were gathered, the politician was uninjured.

De Kirchner, who is currently embroiled in a corruption scandal, was returning from court when she made contact with the crowd.
She is accused of participating in a plot against public funds during her presidency from 2007 to 2015.
Prosecutors claimed that de Kirchner could spend up to 12 Years in prison if convicted. They also suggested that de Kirchner might be banned from politics for life.
All of the charges were dismissed by her.
Sergio Massa, the country’s economy minister, called the terrifying incident an “attempted assassination.”
“When hate and violence prevail over debate, societies are destroyed and situations like these arise: attempted assassination,” He tweeted.
According to police, “armed” man was arrested near De Kirchner’s home and “a weapon was found a few meters from the scene.”
The man was described by police as Brazilian.
The incident occurred in the middle of a crowd.
Social media video showed de Kirchner being surrounded by a crowd as she got out her car. A hand appeared and pointed at her face with what appeared to be a gun.
De Kirchner ducks in front of security, as they try to prevent her from being shot by the potential gunman.
De Kirchner’s Frente de Todos party released a statement that said: “The incitement to hatred emanating from different spheres of political, media and judicial power against the former president, only led to a climate of extreme violence.”
