Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom Trailer unveils the recasting of King Atlan

HITC explains the new King Atlan of Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, after the trailer revealed the first glimpse at a brand-new actor taking on the role previously portrayed by Graham McTavish.

Jason Momoa, who reprises his role as Arthur Curry in DC Comics, will once more face off against Black Manta. James Wan is directing the film. Fans were able to talk about the casting in the recent trailer. Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom did indeed recast the role of King Atlan.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom has replaced King Atlan

The role of King Atlan, the first king of Atlantis and the ancestor of Atlanna, was previously played by Graham McTavish in 2018’s Aquaman but has been replaced by Vincent Regan in Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom.

Although it’s uncertain why the 62-year-old Scottish actor departed from the DCEU, it’s been speculated that there were scheduling conflicts in response to his series regular role in HBO’s Game Of Thrones spin-off House Of The Dragon (he played Ser Harrold Westerling).

Vincent is the actor in this role. He’s 58 years old and a Welshman. His most recent Netflix show was One Piece.

His previous film roles include Troy as Eudorus, 300 as Captain, Clash Of The Titans: Kepheus (Mickey Steele), Ghost Rider Spirit Of Vengeance: Toma Nikasevic (Duke Hammond), Snow White and The Huntsman: Duke Hammond (Dennis McCabe), Luther: The Fallen Son: Dennis McCabe.

Other TV roles include Before We Die, Traces, The Bay and Poldark.

While no other actors have been recast in Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, Willem Dafoe reportedly won’t reprise the Vulko role of the previous movie. Amber Heard returns as Mera.

‘It doesn’t really affect my movie’

It’s already been announced that Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom will be the final installment of the DCEU and the director has reflected on how it felt to make the movie amidst a changing landscape.

“I mean, definitely I’m aware of everything that’s happening around me, I use the analogy that I’m living in a house that’s getting renovated, right?” he You can learn more about this by clicking here. At a Press Event [per CinemaBlend].

“And so it’s hard to not be aware of the renovation that’s happening around me. But that’s the beauty about Aquaman 2 and Aquaman 1 – I’ve always designed these two films to be within their own world, and so the advantage about not being hooked into this bigger universe is ultimately whatever happens over there, it doesn’t really affect my movie, right?”

Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom will be released in cinemas on December 20, 2023.
