Apple’s Siegfried & Roy Scripted Series Development

Apple is developing a scripted limited series based on the company’s podcast “Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy.”

According to the official logline, this half-hour series will be “told from various perspectives and is about two of the greatest showman-magicians in history who push the concept of illusion versus reality to the extreme — until tragedy reframes and opens up an entirely new mystery surrounding their last fateful Las Vegas show.”

John Hoffman, the co-creator of Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,”The project’s executive producer is also writing. Imagine Television’s executive producers will include James Seidman, Ron Howard and Tony Hernandez. Kristen Zolner, Kristen Zolner, Kristen Zolner, Lilly Burns, Lilly Burns, Tony Hernandez and Tony Hernandez. Will Manati, executive Producer of Imagine Television “Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy,”Steven Leckart, who is also executive producer of At Will Media, will also be involved. Apple Studios will be the studio for the project. The eight-part series “Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy”Podcast was released January 2022 to much acclaim.

Roy Horn and Siegfried Fischbacher started their careers as cruise ship magicians before becoming Las Vegas staples. Their act, which featured magic and white Tigers, was famously performed at the Mirage Hotel Casino between 1990 and 2003.

Horn was bit in his throat by one of the tigers at a live performance in 2003. He suffered severe injuries and also had a stroke. Shortly thereafter, the show was shut down. Horn and Fischbacher retired from public life.

They appeared in a variety of television and film roles, including as themselves in movies like “Vegas Vacation”The biographical film “Siegfried & Roy: The Magic Box.”Horn died in 2020 and Fischbacher in 2021.
