Apple CEO Tim Cook Earned $98.7 M in 2021 with $82 M in Stock Awards

Apple CEO Tim Cook earned $98.7million in 2021 due to the recognition and stock awards of $82.3million. Cook’s 2020 executive compensation was $14.8 million.

This past year, Cook’s salary remained flat at $3 million. Cook received $12 million as non-equity incentives, an increase of $10.7million in 2020. Under the catch-all classification of “All Other Compensation,”Cook earned $1.4 Million, an increase of about $1,000,000 in 2021.

Cook’s executive compensation had not recognized stock awards the past few years. His big windfall was tied to his 10-year anniversary as Apple’s CEO and for hitting certain performance requirements.

It’s been a good week for Cook. Apple became the world’s first company to attain a market value of $3 trillion Monday.

This milestone, which is symbolic in nature, reflects investor confidence and the stock’s ability to continue growing. Apple’s valuation has more than tripled in four years. Apple was valued at $1 trillion in August 2018, and it doubled its valuation two years later, in August 2020.

Apple’s closest competitor in terms of market share is Microsoft at around $2.5 trillion. Google’s market share is less than 2 trillion, while Amazon’s valuation is $1.75 trillion.

Apple just finished fiscal 2021 with seven Emmy Awards including three for its financial performance. “Ted Lasso.”It launched new iPhones, MacBook Pros, AirPods, and Apple Watch versions.

CFO Luca Maestri and COO Jeff Williams each earned just below $27 million in their respective pay in the fiscal 2021 year. General counsel and secretary Kate Adams also received less than $27 millions in pay.
