Two Universal fans filed a federal class action lawsuit against the studio, alleging that they were tricked into renting the 2019 film. “Yesterday”Ana de Armas featured in the trailer

According to court documents,VarietyConor Woulfe, 38 and Peter Michael Rosza 44 respectively, a California resident, filed the suit on Friday. They claimed that they had each paid $3.99 for the movie to be rented on Amazon Prime. But, De Armas didn’t appear in the film despite being spotted in the trailer in Oct 2021.

“Because consumers were promised a movie with Ana de Armas by the trailer for ‘Yesterday,’ but did not receive a movie with any appearance of Ana de Armas at all, such consumers were not provided with any value for their rental or purchase,”Variety reports that the lawsuit states these words.

The lawsuit claimed that Universal deceived viewers by including a scene where Malik sings The Beatles’ song in its trailer. “Something,”However, THR claims that the film did not include this feature.

THR reported that Universal was being sued for deceptive marketing and unjust enrichment.

The suit seeks at most $5 million for California and Maryland residents who paid to see the lawsuit “Yesterday.”

Insider reached out to Universal, Rosza and Woulfe representatives but they did not respond immediately.

De Armas, who previously dated Ben Affleck, said in February 2020 that she almost didn’t accept her role in “Knives Out”The character description was listed as “Latina caretaker, pretty.”
