The official trailer of Netflix’s biopic about Marilyn Monroe, Blonde, has offered fans one too many reasons to indulge in intense conversations, and the AccentAna de Armas, the lead actress, is at center of everything.

Apart from the captivating visuals and sound effects, it’s the iconic character’s dialogues that keep you hooked to the screen, but it appears like the viewers either love it or hate it.

Ana de Armas’ accent stands out in Marilyn Monroe biopic

Official TrailerOf Blonde sees tears rolling down Marilyn’s cheek as she explains to Joe DiMaggio how she got her start in the movies.

She said: “I guess I was discovered. I know you’re supposed to get used to it, but I just can’t. I’ve played Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe – I can’t face doing another scene with Marilyn Monroe.”

Ana, a Latino, speaks the powerful dialogues with a Latin accent.

But, she practiced for months to master Marliyn’s accent.

She shared her story The Times UK : “I tried! It only took me nine months of dialect coaching, and practicing, and some ADR sessions. It was a big torture, so exhausting. My brain was fried.”

After seeing the trailer, viewers were divided.

Some are of the opinion that Ana’s authentic accent is adding a touch of originality to the character, while others feel it doesn’t justify the role.

One viewer Write: “Everyone seems fixated on Ana de Armas’ accent in BLONDE but i think that only makes the film more interesting; it emphasizes the inherent artifice in biopics (and in acting overall), which imo is appropriate in a work seemingly dedicated to exploring artifice versus reality.”

Another user agrees with the above tweet : “Ana de Armas moved to the United States in 2014 and at the time, she did not speak English at all. I can’t even imagine how big of an adjustment that was for her. She’s going to be an amazing Marilyn, and if her accent ruins it for you, then that’s your weird little problem.”

What is NC-17 rating?

A NC-17 rating is a guarantee that no one 17 or under will be admitted. Blondehas been awarded the rating because of “some sexual content”It includes:Accordingto FilmRatings.com.

Speaking about the explicit content in the film, the director, Andrew Dominik, told Vulture: “I think if I’m given the choice, I’d rather go and see the NC-17 version of the Marilyn Monroe story.

“Because, we know that her life was on the edge, clearly, from the way it ended. Do you want to see the warts-and-all version or do you want to see that sanitized version?”

The film will debut worldwide on September 23rd.
