Amazon Studios has purchased the rights to an untitled comedy film that centers around a wedding. Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell are attached to the roles. This film was written by Nicholas Stoller who is also a director.
Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum will produce the film under their Gloria Sanchez banner. Conor Welch, Stoller, and Conor Welch also will produce through Stoller Global Solutions. Lauren Neustadter, Witherspoon, and Lauren Neustadter will produce via Hello Sunshine. Ashley Strumwasser is the executive producer.
The plotline of the film is being kept secret.
The untitled comedy reunites Amazon with Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, which is also working on the musical drama series “Daisy Jones & The Six,”The holiday romantic comedy stars Riley Keough and Sam Claflin “Something from Tiffany’s,” starring and executive produced by Zoey Deutch.
Stoller is the director “The Muppets,” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,”Both “Neighbors”The upcoming rom-com and movies “Bros”The film stars Billy Eichner and features an all LGBTQ+ cast.
Witherspoon’s last on-screen feature role was “A Wrinkle in Time” in 2018, but she’ll soon be seen in MGM’s “Legally Blonde 3”In the comedy “Your Place or Mine”Aline Brosh McKinna is the writer and director. She also stars in “The Morning Show.”
Ferrell was most recently seen in “The Shrink Next Door” and will next be seen in Warner Bros.’ “Barbie”Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling.
Ferrell is represented UTA, Mosaic and The Lede Company. Witherspoon’s representation includes LBI Entertainment, CAA and Gretchen Rush. Stoller’s legal representation is by UTA and Narrative.
