Al Murray Wants To Test The Humor Of Harry & Megan

Stand-up comic and TV star Al Murray has said that he wants to interview Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to “see if they have a sense of humor”. The 53-year-old said that he’d like to have the couple meet his Pub Landlord persona to make sure the pair know how to take a joke, but added that he didn’t have high hopes.

Speaking to the Metro he said: “I think Harry and Meghan would be the ideal people for the Pub Landlord to interview right now. It’d be good to find out whether they have a sense of humor because I suspect they don’t.”

He added he recently saw the stage show ‘The Windsors: Endgame’, starring Harry Enfield, Tracy-Ann Oberman, and Kara Tointon, based on Channel 4 comedy ‘The Windsors’, and he says they imagined someone from Buckingham Palace would have been tasked with watching it and reporting back.

He said: “I went to see The Windsors at the theatre and it’s so funny and rude. One of the things we talked about in the interval was picturing someone from Buckingham Palace being sent to watch it and having to report back!”

Al said that the most amazing person that the Pub Landlord has spoken to is Buzz Aldrin. “Shaking hands with that guy is the maddest thing. He went to the moon! It’s ridiculous,” He explained.

“He was an extremely cool dude for someone who’d been to the moon because I think if you’ve been to the moon you can probably behave in any way you want and people will put up with it.”

Al spoke about the impact of the pandemic and said that he’d had to rejig his whole show as everything has changed since 2019. He told people what to expect in his tour, saying that in the first half they’re going to find out exactly who, what and how caused the pandemic.

In the second half, he’ll be talking about freedom and liberty and how we all really need to be free again.
