It’s notable that the two first episodes of “Ahsoka”, do a great deal of work in setting up their heroes’ quest for Ezra, as the core plot of the show. Revealing that Ezra has not only secretly been under Sabine and Ahsoka’s noses but has also turned to the Dark Side since viewers last saw him would be so shocking that it’d border on frustrating — if not downright disappointing. It’s important to note that this twist would not make sense, despite the risks it poses in terms of narrative and theme. Ezra’s last appearance was when he and his captor Grand Admiral Thrawn were taken to a remote location.
As “Ahsoka’s” Episode 2 revealed that Thrawn was stranded on another planet known as Peridea it is safe to assume Ezra would be there as well. In the event that he’s not, “Ahsoka”, will have a hard time explaining how he made it home without Thrawn chasing him. There are only six episodes left until “Ahsoka”, the 8-episode season of “Star Wars”, concludes.
