According to the Smithsonian Ocean Museum, the mako is the fastest of all sharks in the ocean.

This fish can travel at speeds up to 45mph. It has also been observed to dive 30 feet into the water to hunt.

Although its teeth and speed could send shivers down the spine of swimmers, mako sharks are usually found far from coastlines. This means they pose little or no danger.

Unprecedented SHARK Activity

As reports of shark attack continue to be reported, it is important that beachgoers remain vigilant this summer.

A 65-year old woman almost lost her life after a dog bit on Far Rockaway in New York City earlier this month.

Tatyana Koltunyuk’s daughter stated that Tatyana is still recovering in hospital and suffers from a permanent disability as a result of the bite. WABC reports.

While there haven’t been any recent shark attacks on certain shores, chilling signs show that the predators are still in action.

Cape Cod in Massachusetts is a popular spot for beachgoers at this time.

On social media, anglers posted photos of fish torn away from them by predators circling beneath their boats.
