After a series leaks this week, a trailer has been released confirming that there will be an anime adaptation to the Kaiju No 8 manga.

Kaiju No. 1 is the longest-running manga (literally as well as figuratively). 8 is a terrifying series about Kafka Hibino (a young man who can transform into a city-destroying creature).
New rumours about a Kaiju No. 2 emerged this week. 8 anime adaptations were rumored across the internet, and yesterday, the anime series was confirmed by Toho Animations.

While the news about the adaptation is welcome, it is not surprising to see the hit manga made into a TV show. As earlier this week, rumors regarding an anime adaptation by NaoyaMatsumoto of Kaiju No 8 were circulating like wildfire online.

Rumours of an anime adaptation are slowly growing over the past few months. Kaiju No. 2 is the subject of rumours about a TV production. 8 manga were created by the JP Anime TwitterBreaking news page sharing on March 23rd.
According to a Twitter post, “Kaiju No. 8″ (Kaijuu 8-gou), a sci-fi horror manga themed created by Matsumoto, Naoya receives an anime adaptation and will be produce by TOHO Animation.” The post also stated that Toho would be the series’ producer, not the animation studio that will actually work on creating a TV adaptation, which was proven correct with the new teaser trailer.
