After a divisive season finale, Ragnarok's fans are ready to "punch" Magne.

Is there a TV show season where fans are more focused than on the last one? The landing is always a tricky business, but essential. Audiences will discuss extensively what happened throughout the series, but there’s a particular fixation on endings, and a bad one can tarnish a legacy. It’s time for the fans to decide what legacy Ragnarok will leave.

Created by Adam Price, Ragnarok brought its sweeping Norwegian fantasy drama to Netflix back in 2020, and it didn’t take long at all to develop a passionate fanbase that sang its praises when it returned for season 2 in 2021. Season 3 has been released after two years. This is the definitive final installment. It’s the end of an age, but audiences will always remember that ending.

At the core of all three seasons, the writers have never lost sight that this is Magne‘s Story. Thor the Norse God of Thunder, a reincarnation is at the center of the new installments which will premiere on Thursday, 24th August 2023.

While some have yet to finish the remaining six episodes, others are racing towards the final episode. Looking over the general consensus so far, it’s safe to say that fans are divided about whether it’s a satisfying season to end on or not.

Interestingly, some really—and we mean really—aren’t happy with how the central character was handled through the home stretch, and this seems not to stem from David Stakston’s portrayal but instead from how the character acts.

“Magne this season of Ragnarok is irritating me like few other things in life,” one recently tweeted, while another added, “Magne is getting on my nerves.” And oh, it certainly doesn’t stop there.

“Magne was a sucker until the last episode,” one fan wrote, another refusing to mince words: “Magne is such a son of a b**ch this season, I want to punch him in the face.”

Even before the last episode, the audience was irritated by the way in which the character had been handled. “Now why is Magne acting like the hall monitor,” a viewer began. “This season is boring so far”

Similarly, somebody weighed in the observation that “Magne is drunk with power and I am concerned,” noting that “It is only the second episode.”

Calling Magne “stupid,” this fan says the treatment of the character reminds them why they actually prefer Fjor (played by Herman Tømmeraas).

“How unbearable Magne is in this third season,” another passionate viewer echoed, and as more people flock to binge through season 3 we anticipate more piling on Magne to come.

If the final season is generally considered a misfire, Magne may not be innocent in that—at least according to a string of fans.

Netflix has released Ragnarok 3 season.
